In this paper I would like to demonstrate that for learning about palliative care, a community orientated approach is vital if the whole of this complex subject is to be grasped. This paper has been adapted from an assignment I have done for a Postgraduate Diploma of Medical Education via the Centre for Medical Education at the University of Dundee.
